Act 833 Special Codes
  • Based on IEP of student.
  • ACS Act 833 (April Dunn) EOC Alternate 5% Scale: This uses 5% calculation only on EOC courses (Exam 2 or Exam 4 for 4X4 schools) AND causes a change in handling of Y/N to indicate passage of tests required for graduation for LAA1 students. JCampus has the 5% rule built into the calculation process. Any student having a Special code of ACS (ACT 833 April Dunn) or is a SER student, with an active IEP, whose test type assessment code is LAA2 will be triggered as 5% of the course grade.
NOTE that the April Dunn students (ACS) are the old LAA2. The old LAA1 are the LEAP CONNECT. The ACS code will calculate the final grade as 95% District scores and 5% LEAP scores as the LEAP scores are imported.
  • AC8 Act 833 (April Dunn) Student: This causes a change in handling of Y/N to indicate the passage of tests required for graduation.

LAA1

Leap Connect / LAA1 (students having a current IEP with an assessment code of LAA1)

Take Leap Connect assessment. A student absolutely cannot earn a LEAP Connect diploma without taking LEAP Connect and there is no transfer policy for this.

Students can not have an exemption for LEAP Connect.

If they do not pass, the school has the opportunity to develop a portfolio that also enables them to earn the diploma. The school can then post 'Growth' for the subject areas of the LEAP Connect test in Test Score Editor for the student.

  • 'Near Goal','At Goal','Above Goal','Level 2','Level 3','Level 4'- The student passed the subject area assessment
  • Growth - The student used a growth portfolio

Subject Areas:

ELA

Math

LAA2

ACT 833 / April Dunn (students and those would be marked with the ACS special code - formerly LAA2).

Take LEAP 2025 assessment

  • Approaching Basic or higher - The student passed the subject area assessment.
  • Alternate - The student is eligible and met the subject area assessment requirement using alternate means.
  • Exempt - The student was exempt due to out of state or nonpublic enrollment while earning the credit or due to other DOE waivers.

Subject Areas:

ENGLISH I or ENGLISH II

ALGEBRA I or GEOMETRY

BIOLOGY or US HISTORY
