How-to for Teachers
Teachers do not have permission to post Hearing Results. Teachers can view the administrative decisions related to a student's referral using the following steps.
Method 1
- Open Gradebook and select the class in which the student is enrolled.
- Select the student by clicking the student's name.
- Click the Action button at the top right
- Select Stats.
- This will give you at least one page per referral through which you may scroll to find the referral in which you are interested. These pages may be printed by clicking the printer icon at the bottom right of the referral detail.
Method 2
- Open Gradebook and select the class in which the student is enrolled.
- Select the student by clicking the student's name.
- Click the iGear icon at the top of the window.
- Select Discipline.
- A summary of all discipline records will appear.
- If necessary use the vertical scroll bar to locate the referral in which you are interested.
- Use the horizontal scroll bar to view the information related to administrative action date and action taken.
- These pages may be printed by clicking the Print button at the bottom of the referral list.
How-to for Administrators, Counselors and other Staff
- Click on Discipline > Discipline Posting > Entry
- If you need instructions for setup values to be used, follow the link for Standard Setup Options.
- OK - Click to continue.
- Click the Find Referral button at the bottom of the discipline window
- Find the referral that resulted in the recommended hearing flag
- The Admin page of the referral will appear on the screen. There will be an “E” in the cell that shows the number of days suspended either under the ISS or under the OSS
- Select the Hearings tab at the bottom of the screen
- Click the Post Hearings button in the Hearing Results section
- For the “Return to Class” option you only enter a start date
- For all other results you will enter a start date and a return date and click the days button to determine the number of days; if you know the number of days, enter the start date and click Calc to determine the return date.
- NOTE: Code 3 Expulsion will produce a warning, upon selection, informing the user that "Selecting code 3 Expulsion will update the student`s leave code and leave date in Student Master with code 60 01 Expelled."
- For the "Alternate Site Expulsion" option you will need to enter the Alternate Site/Program Code to identify the school/program.
- NOTE: Alternate sites do not have access to student's attendance. If the student is absent while at the alternate site, then add that information to the "Hearing and Interview Comments".
- Be sure to save the referral.
