This will provide a way for the user to enter comments for students to be viewed on the Detailed Progress Report, Report Card and Student Progress Center. Posting these comments will also generate a phone call to the parent home and cell numbers. To block these calls, go to Communication Configuration, and add GR904 to block the phone calls from going out.

Post Comments video

  1. Select the Grades menu at the top of the screen.
  2. Select Post Comments.
  3. Each student must have at least one assignment grade posted before a comment can be posted.
  4. The screen display will change. There will be a column on the left listing the students in the class. The student IDs, grade level and marking period grade will also be on this side of the screen.
  5. There are columns labeled C01, C02, ... C12 for entering the various comments for a single student, a group of students, or for the whole class.
  6. The right side of the screen will list available codes with a description for each code. NOTE: On some of theses comments, C stands for check and M stands for minus.
  7. Enter comments based on the following conditions:
    • All students - Click the check box found to the left of the comment number. An asterisk will appear beside all student names. Select the code from the list on the right side of the screen. All asterisks will change to the selected code.
    • Small group of students - Click in a comment column beside the student's name and an asterisk will appear. Continue clicking on student names that are to receive the same comment. Select the code from the list on the right side of the screen. All asterisks will change to the selected code.
    • Single student - Click in a comment column beside the student's name and an asterisk will appear. Select the code from the list on the right side of the screen. The asterisk will change to the selected code.
  8. Print will allow the user to print the posted comments.
  9. Note that comment posting can also be edited by an "Add Staff" teacher with the appropriate security. See Multiple Teachers.
