Enroll a Student (Basics)

How-to

  1. Log into WebPams
  2. Click on "Student Master" under "Entry"
  3. Check the Student Master setup box
    • Select the desired "Year"
    • "District" and "School" should be defaulted based on security
  4. Click "OK"
  5. Click in the yellow box next to "Name" and a Student Information box will appear
    • Type in Last name, (suffix) if applicable, first name, and middle
      1. If any part of the name should contain an apostrophe, use the key left of #1 on the keyboard.
    • You may fill in alias if the child goes by something different
    • Fill in "Mailing Address"
      1. You can copy the mailing address to different fields by clicking “copy address” check student’s mailing address under “copy from” and check any fields under “copy to” then click copy. The information is transferred to all areas checked
    • Fill in "Phone Number"
    • Fill in Social Security Number or if the student does not have one, double click in the field and the computer will generate a temporary number
    • Click "Close"
  6. Choose the student's grade level by clicking on the drop down by "Grade"
  7. Choose the student's gender by clicking on the drop down by "Gender"
  8. Click in the field to the right of "Race". A box will appear. At the top of the box is "Primary Ethnicity" with a drop down menu below. Select the "Primary Ethnicity"
    • Only the "Primary Ethnicity" is required, but a "Secondary Ethnicity" may be selected as well by checking all boxes that apply below "Secondary Ethnicity"
    • If a parent will not disclose the ethnicity of a child, select a "Primary Ethnicity" that best applies then check the "Observed" box and insert the date that the ethnicity was observed
  9. Click in the field to the right of "Birth Date". A "Birth Date Information" box will appear. Choose the month, date, year from drop down or use the calendar then click "Close". The other fields in the "Birth Date Information" box are not necessary
  10. Click in the "Entry Date" field. A "Entry Information" box will appear
    • Select an "Entry Code" by clicking in the drop down
    • Select an "Entry Date" by selecting the month, date, year from drop down or by using the calendar
    • If the student is transferring from within the state of Louisiana, click in "Transferred From" field to generate a Louisiana State School List. Select the school they are transferring from. Click "Close"
  11. Click "Save" at the bottom of the Student Master
