  1. Click the Attendance button at the top of the screen.
  2. The screen will change to the posting attendance screen and the roster of students will be the same class roster from Gradebook.
  3. Locate the blue 1st column.
  4. Scroll through the list of students to find the student that needs to be marked absent and click in the cell to the right of the student’s name in the 1st column.
  5. The defaulted code from the setup box will appear in the column. The user would not see a list of attendance codes.
  6. Locate the Out column for checking out.
  7. Scroll through the list of students to find the student that needs to check out and click in the cell to the right of the student’s name in the Out column.
  8. A list of attendance reasons will appear. At the bottom of the list of checkout reasons, the students attendance summary will be displayed. Select the appropriate reason for the checkout. If the student has a health condition a notice will populate to be printed.
  9. If the student has a health code or an alert code/comments, then the demographic page will appear to notify you.
  10. If the checkout reason is a medical reason, an additional box will appear listing medical reasons. Find the medical reason that best fits the situation.
  11. To the left of the medical reasons are check boxes in columns labeled MI (Mild), MO (Moderate), and SE (Severe). Select the appropriate severity of the medical reason for the student’s checkout.
  12. The time of the check out will default to the current time. If you need to edit the time refer to the Edit Attendance instructions.
  13. NOTE for code 69 U Virtual Absent - As a TE profile, when a user clicks on Out and selects code 69 when the student is on a Virtual Bell, then it will display the bell period start time in the Out column and period end time in the In column. So, it will look at bell schedule and mark student out only during class time of bell schedule.
  14. NOTE for code 70 U Virtual Present - Selecting 70 using the Out or the In code will display the 70 P Virtual Present both in the Out and the In columns with the current time. So, it will mark an In and Out with same time (similar to Tardy so no class time lost). Used to mark a student as attending the class virtually in some manner.
