The purpose of the Part Number is for two possible situations:

  • The student needs to retake the first semester of a full credit course but can only be scheduled into a second semester time slot. This course would need the part number of 1 to be entered into the transcript record.
  • If the student takes the second semester of a full credit course but can only be scheduled into a first semester time slot, then a 2 would be entered in the transcript record.
