How-to
Click on Scheduling, then Load Student Course Requests under Entry.
On the Setup Box
To find definitions for standard setup values, follow this link: Standard Setup Options.
For other set up values not listed in the standard set up list:
- For this program, select the Year should be the upcoming school year
- For Stu Grades, select the grade level(s) of the students that need course requests
- Check the box by Active Only exclude those students who were dropped in the year selected
- The date field below the Active Only box is to tell the system what date the Active Only option should be using to find active students
- For Show, select to include all students, special ed students only, or regular ed students only on the report
- In the Spec Codes field, select special codes to only work with those students that have the special codes selected
- Check the box Include Scheduled Requests to show student requests that have already been scheduled. Leave unchecked to only view unscheduled requests
- Check the box Allow Multiyear Requests to enter student requests up to five years in advance
- Check the box Skip Obsolete Courses to exclude courses that are obsolete from the course selection list
- Click in the field to the right of Course Grades to limit the course selection list to the grade levels selected
- Check the box Create Courses From Master Schedule to limit the course selection list to only those courses in your master schedule
- If comments are on the master schedule and need to be displayed while putting in requests, check the box next to Show Master Schedule Comments
Click Ok when the setup box is correct
Loading Requests
- To add requests to a student, first find the student to add requests to. At the top of the screen is the first student`s name alphabetically after clicking "Ok" on the setup box. Either click the buttons "Next" or "Prev" to scroll the students one at a time or click the "Find" button to get a roster of students to choose from
- On the left side of the screen is where the student`s requests will appear. On the right is the course selection list. To add requests, click on the desired course from the course selection list and it will appear on the left
- To delete a request, click the red cell to the left of the course
- If standard courses were marked in the course catalog or courses were marked with priority codes, at the bottom of the program are two buttons, "Load School" and "Load Student". Click "Load School" to load those marked courses into all student`s requests or click "Load Student" to load marked courses into the student on the screen
- By clicking "Load School", another box will appear. If courses were marked in the standard field in the course catalog, click the first three check boxes labeled "All Course(*)", "Male Courses (M)", and "Female Courses (F)". If courses were marked in the priority field in the course catalog, check the last three boxes labeled "1 Elective Courses", "2-5 Mandatory Courses", and "6-9 Must Take Courses"
- The courses marked in the course catalog can be overridden by clicking the button "Select Courses (overrides standard/priority selection)" and selecting the courses desired
- At the bottom of the box, select the year(s) to mass load requests into
- Click "OK"
- To delete auto loaded requests for the school:
- Click on the menu item "Action"
- A menu will drop down. Select the option "Delete All Auto Loaded Unsched Requests For School". All auto loaded and unscheduled requests will be deleted
- To delete unscheduled requests for the selected student only:
- Click on the menu item "Action"
- A menu will drop down. Select the option "Delete All Unsched Requests For Student"
